Stacy Williams named LaCalle Group CEO
Longtime Continued, Simucase leader and innovator in communication sciences and disorders promoted to lead company
LaCalle Group, the parent company of Continued and Simucase, has appointed Stacy Williams, PhD, its Chief Executive Officer.
Williams has served as a leader within these companies for nearly 15 years, most recently as CEO of Simucase and president of LaCalle Group. During her tenure, she has led several areas of the company, including product and editorial development, continuing education administration, instructional technology services, new market growth, and Simucase.
She succeeds Tony Perlak, who enthusiastically endorsed Williams as his successor upon his resignation as CEO, a role he’s held since 2016.
“I am honored to serve in this role and have never been more optimistic about what the future holds for both Continued and Simucase,” Williams said. “Under Tony Perlak’s incredible leadership, our company culture has remained at the forefront, and I know that will be just as true as we step into the future. I truly believe the best is yet to come as we continue to advance our mission of providing an exceptional learning experience that enhances the lives and careers of the professionals we serve.”
As a speech-language pathologist, researcher, and business leader, Williams has devoted her career to innovative educational practices.
Her doctoral research became part of the foundation of the Continued family site SpeechPathology.com.
Williams developed the world’s first simulation center for communication disorders as a junior faculty member and researcher at Case Western Reserve University. Today, this initial research and product development is Simucase, which provides clinical simulations within a personalized learning platform for thousands of students and professionals annually.
Williams is an adjunct associate professor at Case Western Reserve University and has served the communication sciences and disorders profession in local, state, and national leadership roles. She was elected a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 2020 and has served on the board of the ASHFoundation since 2017.
“We would like to sincerely express our gratitude to Tony Perlak for his leadership and service,” said company owners Aimee and Bill LaCalle. “He has embodied the spirit and ideals that we have envisioned for our company, and we have made immense progress under his guidance. As we look ahead, we couldn’t be happier and more proud with the appointment of Dr. Stacy Williams as CEO of LaCalle Group. There is no better cultural or talent fit for this essential role, and we have complete confidence in her ability to lead our organization into the next chapter of our story.”
